Origins….
Tadwerks came about mostly as a result of boredom during the pandemic of 2019. My wife and I had just purchased a new home with a huge deck and an out building the former owner used for lawn mower and lawn tools storage. My wife wanted a couple Adirondack chairs as a start, but we wanted real wooden ones as opposed to plastic. As I’m sure you’re aware, those are not cheap. So I decided to raid Harbor Freight and buy the tools I would need to add to the few I had in order to build my own. So it began.
I was off work for 5 months due to the pandemic, and I spent that time studying a lot of YouTube videos and learning the techniques necessary to build in my new woodshop. Soon, the “storage shed” was becoming a challenge space wise, so I sold my Harley Davidson I wasn’t riding much anymore and bought a second building and parked it next to my old one. Now I had more room, and only limited by my own motivation. I love spending time in my shop, it’s very therapeutic for me. I recently continued the learning process, by carving out a space in my shop for a metalworks booth and took up basic welding and metal fabrication to add to the repertoire. This site is the next step in the journey as I learn to start giving back to the community the things I have learned. I hope you enjoy this journey with me.
